These Are The Hottest Haircuts for 2022

We’ve spent over a year with natural texture and no-fuss hairstyles for obvious reasons. In 2022, we might be facing more of the same but with a few extra bells and whistles.

The new year symbolizes a fresh start for many people, and it’s a perfect time to embrace new trends and give a new hairstyle a go. Here are some trendy haircuts you can expect to see everywhere this year:

A classic bob

There’s no reason to think that the bob will step off the main stage any time soon. There are a lot of different ways to wear it and the classic chin-length look is making a big comeback. You can also try the sliced bob that is longer in front or a boy bob that has a rougher texture.

Wispy bangs

While both blunt and curtain bangs are still very popular, wispy bangs present an alternative for people who are reluctant to go too heavy. They create more movement and texture by forming layers around the face. In addition, you can get an amazingly soft feel with long, thick hair.

Braids

Braids are definitely going to be “in” this year. It’s a style that can be dressed up or down easily and it’s easy to maintain. Braids work for both date nights or workdays and if you don’t want to commit to the hairstyle, you can just add an accent braid and you’re good to go.

Natural waves

If you have wavy hair, it’s time to step into the spotlight. Just air-dry your hair and you’re pretty much done. You no longer have to flat-iron your natural waves, embrace what you have and wear it proudly. Of course, make sure to use products made specifically for naturally wavy or curly hair.

Layers, layers and more layers

In 2022, you can expect to see layers everywhere. The style is gorgeous when worn with natural textures and it’s super easy to maintain. It’s also an excellent way to visibly change your style without cutting a lot of your hair.

Wolf cut

Wolf cuts were huge in 2021 and they’ll be just as big in 2022. This is a creative version of a mullet — inspired by its choppy texture and following a similar pattern and shape. However, it’s softer and somewhat resembles a shag cut. Essentially, with the wolf cut, you’ll have more volume at the crown, less at the sides, and a lot of movement and layers throughout. It can be worn long or short.

80s curls

80s hair, especially big wand curls are expected to make a big comeback in 2022. If your hair doesn’t have enough volume on its own, you can always use extensions — there are even non-damaging techniques that don’t use any heat or glue! All in all, it’s a satisfying and distinct style that will make you feel like a brand new self.

Accessories

While not technically a haircut, the use of accessories will be big this year. Anything from hair clips, headbands, and scarfs will do the trick and allow you to stand out from the crowd

Tendrils

Two pieces on each side of the part, hanging out of a ponytail or an updo will frame many faces in 2022. Whether you opt for a wavy, straight, or braided look, you’ll add that special bit of style and chic to your bun or hair that’s been dirty for a couple of days.
