Last November our lovely hair stylist Jenny was suddenly diagnosed with Leukaemia. This came as a huge shock to all the team members at Salon Cabelo. In the few days before hand, Jenny had been feeling tired and some unexplained bruising had appeared. When chasing up a blood test for this, Jen’s doctor requested her to visit A&E straight away, Jen left work at Salon Cabelo Farnham, and just a few hours later was hit with the diagnosis.
Jenny joined us at Salon Cabelo Hairdressers last year. Lockdown spurred Jen to restart her hairdressing career, she had put herself through qualifications and was fully determined and committed to getting armed with all the Aveda colour and product knowledge and the hairstyling skills needed to get stuck into what she loved…doing Hair! Jenny’s journey at Salon Cabelo included her involvement with the preparations to open our second branch,
Salon Cabelo Farnham. From choosing and potting our salon plants, varnishing floors, organizing our opening event, offering emotional support to Louise! and much more. When Salon Cabelo Farnham’s doors opened Jenny was off to a flying start, cutting and colouring hair and giving our customers the great service, we aspire too.
Jen has spent months in hospital undergoing the most aggressive treatment, she endured four rounds of chemotherapy, bone marrow extractions, blood, and plasma infusions, all of which has made her feel so dreadfully sick and unwell. During this time Jen was only able to have a couple of visitors. Such an ordeal on the body and mind. Jen is currently continuing her treatment at home; it will take time for her to rebuild her strength and cope with the side effects of the medication.
Jen is truly more than a budding hairstylist, she is a one of the bravest, selfless people you could meet. We at Salon Cabelo are so proud of her and are so looking forward to the day when she can re-join us in Our Aveda Hair salon in Farnham.
Jens’s partner Adam is going to run the London Marathon (his first time) on the 2nd October in aid of Macmillian Cancer Support, the charity support people living with cancer and their loved ones. We at Salon Cabelo will be supporting Adam’s fundraising. Any sponsorship will be gratefully received.

Last November, I had a big shock as I was suddenly diagnosed with Leukaemia and have been going through aggressive chemotherapy the past months in hospital and now continuing my treatment maintenance from my home.
My amazing partner, Adam Harrington has decided to run the London marathon for Macmillan and the support and donations we have already received has been OVERWHELMING ❤️ we cannot thank everyone enough for their kindness and generosity!
Chemotherapy pushes people’s bodies through the extreme and Adam is supporting in the way he can - training so hard in preparation for the big run on the 2nd October.
This charity, I’m sure is close to lots of people’s hearts and what they offer those with cancer and their loved ones is incredible! I feel very lucky and fortunate to have wonderful family and friends that have been my support system. Sadly, this isn’t the case for everyone and when you’re diagnosed, life comes to an instant stop.
Macmillan are the family support system to many people who are suffering with cancer right now. We are so thankful for the support they have offered us during a very difficult time and will be forever grateful.
Thank you again for the continuous support and donations.
Love, Jen and Adam ❤️
